Carnival Jubilee™ plays host to a lineup of shows like Soulbound and its spooky, atmospheric R&B and Visual Symphony, with innovative LED walls and special effects three decks high. Let’s see what else… debuting right here there’s Dear Future Husband, an interactive pop-wedding adventure. Of course there’s also Celestial Strings, which reimagines rock and pop favorites as symphonic classical compositions, and We Are One, which has performers sometimes leaving the stage behind, actually soaring above the audience. To find uncharted flavors, never before seen on land, we had to dive deep. Far below the waves we met a mermaid who swims the depths of the oceans to find the long-lost treasures of ancient civilizations.
is the last year Carnival will sail out of Charleston, South Carolina
The water park will offer six water slides (the most ever on a cruise ship). Haute cuisine meets atmosphere at Fahrenheit 555™, a dining experience that stands toe-to-toe with some of the best steakhouses on land. Ours features your choice of steak cuts, lobster, lamb and more… and inside, there’s even a full bar that pours great pairings. These are the building blocks of an amazing experience — delectable elements that combine with great service to offer an evening to remember. The Bonsai Teppanyaki™ experience is set to delight guests aboard Carnival Celebration®.
CARNIVAL JUBILEE: NEXT-LEVEL FUN, POWERED BY LNG
The luxury hotel brand Ritz-Carlton made waves in 2022 when it launched its first cruise ship, Evrima. The next ship in its fleet, Ilma, aims to do more of the same -- on a bigger scale. The 456-passenger ship is significantly larger than Evrima, which only held 298 guests. That's not to say that Utopia will be a carbon copy of its sister ships.
Four MSC Ships Will Cruise from North America next Summer
The kids club staff mobilized to organize the ship's multiple activity spaces. Everyone seemed genuinely happy to be there, and they all welcomed each other with smiles. The excitement was palpable, which bodes well for passengers since the crew is prepared and the ship is ready. The Bonsai Teppanyaki™ experience is set to delight guests aboard Carnival Jubilee™. Carnival Radiance is the third ship in the Sunshine Class, along with sister ships Carnival Sunshine and Carnival Sunrise.
Princess Cruises is also debuting something completely different in the 4,000-passenger Sun Princess, the first of the line's Sphere-class ships, slated for February 2024. Families in particular should look forward to a slew of new features for young ones and teens in an area called Park19. The ship is debuting the first rollglider at sea, Sea Breeze -- an electric ride that goes up to 11 mph. The area will also have a ropes course and Coastal Climb, an obstacle-course-meets-ladder adventure spanning two decks. Slightly bigger than its sister ships, Viking Vela will hold 998 passengers at double occupancy — 68 more than its siblings.
Advance booking of ‘Behind the Fun’ tours
The experience includes a behind-the-scenes tour to see the galley in operation. As part of the Carnival Kitchen program, guests can prepare a three-course meal from the chef’s recipes. Options include New-New Orleans Pasta, Shrimp & Okra Gumbo with Filé and Strawberries Romanoff. Carnival Kitchen is also on Carnival Panorama, Mardi Gras, and Celebration. Aiming to elevate the guest experience further for 2024, Carnival Cruise Line is adding a series of new shipboard enhancements.

Balcony Staterooms
While both comprise a full day at sea, the first feature visits to Bimini and Nassau, while the second sails to Nassau and Princess Cays – one of Carnival Corporation’s private destinations in the Bahamas. Like Viking's other ocean ships, it'll sail itineraries that feature more time in ports than is common at many other lines. Like the earlier Viking ships, it'll also be adults-only, with no passengers under the age of 18 allowed. Like Silver Nova, Silver Ray will be bigger than Silversea's previous ships and feature an unusual, asymmetrical design for its public decks that reorients its key features toward the sides of the ship instead of the center. Whether you're floating in the ship's main pool or dining at its open-air Marquee restaurant, you'll be looking out at the sea (or whatever destination the ship is visiting) like you've never been able to before. Plus, the top deck of the ship is getting some unusual-for-Princess sizzle with the addition of a glass-dome-topped pool area that will transform into a nightspot after the sun goes down.
Seafood Shack
Beaches, boardwalks and piers were just a little of what inspired us to create this zone that serves up just the right flavors and feels. For starters, Coastal Slice™ is the hotspot for fresh pizza that can only be topped… by delicious toppings. Marina Bar™ is an indoor/outdoor spot where the drinks are only part of the refreshment story — there’s also some great lounging to do! And if we catch you feasting your eyes on our Beach Buns™, c’mon, who can blame you? It’s a fabulous way to enjoy delicious sandwiches made how you like, or even a just-got-grilled hot dog.

Royal Caribbean's second new ship of the year will be a giant, too, though not quite as big as Icon of the Seas. In addition to asymmetry in many areas, one thing that will be particularly noticeable about Silver Ray is its spaciousness — something it will share with Silver Nova. At 54,700 tons, the two ships are about 34% bigger than Silversea's last three new vessels — Silver Muse, Silver Moon and Silver Dawn — but they are designed to hold only about 22% more passengers. Other notable features of the ship will include an expanded Commodore Club observation lounge and a main pool area (The Pavilion) topped with a retractable glass roof designed to be as much a showpiece as a functional structure.
These are great examples of how Carnival has paid attention to passenger preferences. Cabins in this section of the ship come in several configurations to suit different needs, and they include access to a dedicated lounge, allowing families to spend time together over snacks, drinks and even board games. "Dear Future Husband" isn't the only interactive entertainment you'll find on board.
A new immersive restaurant, centered around the concept of being on a train, is being developed. What's also unique for the ship is that it will focus on short three- and four-day itineraries from its Port Canaveral homeport -- meaning you'll never be able to see it all in one trip. The hype for Royal Caribbean's newest ship, Icon of the Seas, has been building for a long time with record-breaking sales -- and in January 2024, the latest class from the line will debut. The 7,600-passenger vessel promises to be a showstopper, especially the new glass-covered AquaDome. This 82-feet-by-164-feet space will feature 600 panes of glass and contain a signature AquaTheater, as well as restaurants and Royal's first food hall, the AquaDome Market.

But it'll still be less than a third the size of the giant ships operated by such well-known cruise brands as Royal Caribbean, MSC Cruises and Norwegian Cruise Line. In design and features, Utopia of the Seas will be nearly identical to Royal Caribbean's last new Oasis Class ship, Wonder of the Seas, which debuted in 2022. Like that vessel, it'll have a dedicated suite area with a private lounge, restaurant and sun deck — something not found on the four earlier Oasis Class ships. The extra space on the two vessels has allowed Silversea to expand its lineup of cabin categories, with more large suites.
Carnival Celebration and Mardi Gras, the two other Excel Class ships, will continue to sail from Florida to the Eastern and Western Caribbean. In addition to two newbuilds, the U.S.-based cruise line is getting three extra ships from Costa Cruises, Carnival Corporation’s Italian brand. The Carnival Liberty and the Carnival Glory are swapping homeports in May 2024. Sailing from New Orleans since 2019, the Glory is set to take over Liberty’s program of short cruises out of Port Canaveral. Although the renovated ships are as good as new, they are not as large or have some of the newest features available on the Excel Class ships like Mardi Gras and Carnival Celebration.
The Mardi Gras is a ship belonging to Carnival’s Excellence Class, also known as Excel Class, and is the sister ship of Carnival Celebration. With a capacity of 5,282 passengers based on double occupancy, it is named after a former Carnival cruise ship that sailed for two decades. Carnival Cruise Line is the largest cruise company in the world, based on passengers carried, and the flagship brand of Carnival Corporation & plc. Known as “America’s Cruise Line” for carrying more Americans and serving more U.S. homeports than any other cruise line.
Onboard, Carnival fans will find brand staples, including Guy's Burger Joint; Cucina del Capitano; the Alchemy Bar; Waterworks; Shaquille O’Neal’s Big Chicken; Playlist Productions, and BOLT, the Excel-exclusive roller coaster at sea. From increasing the cost of Carnival's drink package to redeploying ships from Charleston, South Carolina to Norfolk, Virginia, here are seven big changes you can expect that will impact your cruising experience in 2024 and beyond. Originally ordered for AIDA Cruises, the LNG-powered ship will offer year-round cruises departing from the Port of Galveston. A total of 19 cruises departing from the Texas homeport are currently opened for booking, including a 12-night Carnival Journey to the Southern Caribbean that visits Aruba, Curaçao, Bonaire and more. As you can see Carnival Cruise Line builds new ships regularly with a new ship coming out almost one per year. However, Some of the newer ships are also moved from a sister brands or could even be a refurbished older vessel like we’ve seen with the Sunshine Class ships.
In addition to one day at sea, the three-night weekend cruises feature a visit to either Nassau or Bimini. Among the most notable of these smaller vessels is the 60-passenger AmaMagdalena, which is being billed as the first major river ship designed to sail on the Magdalena River in Colombia. Avalon's new entry for 2024, the 102-passenger Avalon Alegria, will be that line's first vessel on the Douro River in Portugal.
